چکیده

The objective of this study was to evaluate the forage yield and morphological responses 34 cactus pear (Nopalea cochenillifera Opuntia ficus indica) genotypes. genotypes were planted in a randomized complete block design, with treatments three replicates. After 330 days cultivation, characteristics, plant mortality pest disease occurrence on plants assessed, cutting performed. Multivariate analyses performed assign homogenous groups. average Euclidian distance adopted as dissimilarity measurement for use standardized data Variables relatively high levels independence among agronomic categories biological importance animal nutrition assessed. To identify associative effects, Pearson’s correlation analysis all studied variables. formation five distinct groups observed, some correlated productivity characteristics. Green mass production positively dry production, water accumulation, water-use efficiency, accumulation cladode number per plant. following had remarkably yields green mass, greater ability accumulate efficiency support capacity: Negro Michoacan (V07), Tamazunchale (V12), California (V14), Orelha de Elefante Mexicana (V17), Amarillo 2289 (T32).

QTL mapping of forage yield and forage yield component traits in Sorghum bicolor x S. sudanense.

The sorghum-sudangrass hybrid (Sorghum bicolor x S. sudanense) is an important forage crop. However, little is known about the genetic mechanisms related to forage yield and the 4 forage yield component traits in this forage crop. In this study, a linkage map was constructed with 124 assigned SSR markers using an F2 mapping population derived from the crossing of sorghum Tx623A and sudangrass S...

Cactus-Pear Juices

This paper presents a review of cactus-pear juice production. Its technological characteristics are considered, as well as the main difficulties in obtaining high-quality juice. Acidity, pigments, aroma, and other components play an important role in the cactus pear juice processing. Betalain and chlorophyll are present in purple and green cactus pear juices, and heat treatment of the juices af...

Genetic Diversity of pear (Pyrus spp) Germplasm Assessed by Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) and Morphological Traits

This study was conducted to identify and recognize relations and diversity among accessions of the Iranianpears (Pyrus spp). A total of 34 pear accessions, derived presumably from at least six species, were subjected to simple sequence repeat (SSR) analysis. The Japanese and the Chinese pear samples were; “Housui” and “Yali” cultivars, example of Pyrus pyrifolia and P. bretschneideri, respectiv...

Colour Stability of Wild Cactus Pear Juice

Prickly pear (Opuntia spp) fruit has received renewed interest since it contains a betalain pigment that has an attractive purple colour for the production of juice. Prickly pear juice was prepared by homogenizing the fruit and treating the pulp with 48 g of pectinase from Aspergillus niger. Titratable acidity was determined by diluting 10 ml prickly pear juice with 90 ml deionized water and ti...
